Push, pull, and slide the scenes to bring the classic story of Peter Pan to life. “Second star to the right and straight on till morning!” First Stories: Peter Pan is a perfect introduction to this classic tale. Push, pull, and turn mechanisms bring the story to life and introduce all the main characters: Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, The Lost Boys, and Captain Hook. This well-loved fairy tale is beautifully imagined for a new generation by illustrator Miriam Bos.
I love the interactivity features of this book, and so does my toddler! I wish there were a little more of the story included, but this is a board book and the illustrations are cute, and the rhyming couplets works well.
Fun, interactive book about Peter Pan. :) My favorite part of this book is the mix of interactive abilities–it has tabs to pull out, flaps to lift, and parts to swipe back and forth. I think the illustrations are darling and that it’s a pretty well-condensed version of the story. While the rhyme is pretty cute, I didn’t love all of the word choice.
My name is Miriam Bos. I am an illustrator and pattern designer from the Netherlands who loves creating art that brings a smile to your face. I started out as an illustrator of children’s books & magazines. In 2012, I jumped into pattern design and put my heart into developing new illustrations and surface designs for a whole different market. I am now a fabric designer with Birch Fabrics and have two fabric collections on my name. I’m also an illustrator of children’s books and have licensed my work to several companies & industries worldwide. I specialize in both traditional and digital techniques and like to mix them up which gives my artwork a distinct & quirky style. Whimsical girls, lush flowers, and sweet birds are just a few of the things I can’t stop drawing.(Bio via http://miriambos.com)
