Touch-and-feel: Books For Kids

Touch-and-feel books are an important genre in the baby and toddler book realm, involving not just their minds, but their tiny hands (and sometimes toes and faces) in the reading process. Snuggling together, truly experiencing a book in a more immersive way can help increase enjoyment of reading for munchkins, keeping them engaged. All touch-and-feel books aren’t created equal, so here are a few we’d recommend you try out with your little ones—we think you’ll love them!

Thoughts from B is for Bookworm

Love this birthday-themed touch-and-feel book! This board book is perfect for toddlers who like a little more of a story, but there’s the fun element of some texture inside, as well as a lift-the-flap on the last page. :) I really like how the texture in this book isn’t just the same old—there are some ribbons on a party hat, some ridges in the icing on the cake, and some paper in the banner decorations for the party. I also love the colors and illustrations in this book.

This charmingly illustrated board book is filled with all the things that make a birthday so special, garlands and party hats, presents and cake, and most important of all friends to celebrate with.
