The text for this story is full of personality and fun, as are the mixed-media illustrations. I like that the storyline isn't just basic (try, try, and you'll succeed), but more of a unique tale that still has a happy end.
George Laurent is always content to stay home while his bird friends fly away to somewhere else--or is he? The story is darling, but the real highlight of this book is the mixed-media illustration style. It's cute, unique, and an all-around great book!
This book has creative illustrations and tells the story of a duck who never learned to fly. It is an encouraging story of how you can problem solve tricky situations.

The Creative Behind the Book
Gus Gordon grew up on a farm in the mountains, went to agricultural college, and even worked on a cattle farm. Eventually, he realized he loved drawing cows (and other things) more than he loved living with them, so he bravely turned to illustration. Gus now lives with his wife and three kids in Sydney, Australia.
