A seriously silly ABC book packed with imaginary animals from the creator of the Llama Llama books, Anna Dewdney, and Reed Duncan. From A is for Anonymouse and I is for Incredibull, to K is for Kangarude and R is for Rocktopus, this ABC book will have readers laughing out loud as they learn the alphabet with animals they may never have seen–or even heard of–before.
Anna Dewdney was a teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of reading aloud to children. She continually honed her skills as an artist and writer and published her first Llama Llama book in 2005. Her passion for creating extended to home and garden and she lovingly restored an 18th century farmhouse in southern Vermont. She wrote, painted, gardened, and lived there with her partner, Reed, her two daughters, two wirehaired pointing griffons, and one bulldog. Anna passed away in 2016, but her spirit will live on in her books.
Reed Duncan is a former instructor of writing and English. He was the longtime partner of author-illustrator Anna Dewdney, and is a co-creator and an executive producer/writer for the “Llama Llama” animated television series. ANIMALICIOUS is one of several books that he and Anna wrote together.

Anna Dewdney was the author-illlustrator of several bestselling books, including the beloved Llama Llama Red Pajama series. A teacher, mother, and advocate of childhood literacy, Anna was also a passionate gardener and runner. She lived in a restored 18th-century farmhouse in Vermont with her dogs and her partner, Reed Duncan. Anna died in 2016.
I went to Glasgow School of Art as well as Kingston University where I graduated with a Masters in Illustration in 2007. The same year I founded Cloud Cuckoo Studio with fellow illustrator Katharina Koall in London’s East End.
What I like doing most is writing and illustrating fun and slightly absurd comedies for 4 year olds! I want to entertain while remaining truthful to my personal emotions, interests and ideas. This year I have been selected to show my work at the illustrators exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and my first two picture books will be published with Child’s Play.
Apart from making picture books my work has been exhibited internationally and was showcased in several publications including Images 33 and the 3x3 Illustration Directory. Recent editorial commissions include Waterstone’s Books Quarterly, Die Zeit and Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin.
