Since the market is closed, the reader is led around the world to gather the ingredients for making an apple pie. Includes recipe.
A recipe and a trip 'round the world, all rolled up in one delicious package of a picture book! I love the tiny little introduction this book provides to a variety of different cultures from France to Sri Lanka as the little collects her ingredients, as well as the different homespun techniques required to create baking ingredients from their rawest forms. You'll definitely want to make your own apple pie after reading this one... you'll just have to hope your local market is open!
