The fourth totally awesome, funny, and incredibly informative book in the “I’m Trying to Love…” book series! Think rocks are boring? Hard to like? Kinda just sit there, doing nothing? Why even write a whole book about them?? Bethany Barton will tell you why . . . because we wouldn’t be here if there were no rocks! From the Grand Canyon to volcanos to diamonds and fossils, geology–the study of rocks–shows us where we’ve been and where we’re going. With tons of humor and scores of fascinating facts, Bethany Barton introduces younger readers to geology and why rocks matter . . . enough to write a whole book about them!
I love books that are fun AND cute AND informative. This one offers a lot of information about geology in a very tangible way. I think it would be a bit tricky to read straight through, since there's a lot of text all over each page that doesn't necessarily have a single flow to it, so I would probably skip it with my toddler, but have a great time exploring together it with my preschooler!
This would be a great book for older kids who love learning new facts. The writing is engaging and may pull in a skeptical reader.
A great example of being informational and educational while still being extremely enjoyable and fun to read!
Bethany Barton had been stung by three bees in her lifetime, but still wishes she could give bees hugs. She lives and works in Los Angeles with her rad husband (named Mike), their awesome son (named Leo), and a vegetable garden full of bees and spides (all named Lucille).
Nothing yet! Let Bethany Barton know that you want to hear from them about their book.
