It's cute and an appealing idea, but this is definitely one of those books that is more for the nerdy parent than for the child. The diagrams and wording are simple, and the pages each have a splash of color, but there's no real life connection for kids or anything to really pull them in. My kids are willing to read it from time to time not because they love it but because they read everything. It's not a complete bust, though; we've just had to find good ways to use the book. My three-year-old likes it if we can supplement the book's text with lots of other examples, and my one-year-old likes to point to circles with her fingers or name the colors on each page. All in all, it's one of those books that I wish I liked more.
