Grumpy Monkey Books

The ten full-size picture books are shown in publication order, but each adventure stands alone. Starting with Grumpy Monkey gives the clearest introduction to Jim, Norman, and the series' central idea that feelings do not need to be rushed away.

The shorter board books are a separate publisher-defined line for toddlers. They use the same characters and can be read independently at any point.

The books are especially useful for talking about anger, frustration, social pressure, fear, and the difference between accepting a feeling and treating other people unkindly. The lessons are carried by jokes and friendship rather than lectures.
