Vickie Lee and Joey Chou’s illustrated 12 Lucky Animals is a young, dual-language animal concept book introducing Chinese characters and the animals of the Chinese zodiac…
This is a super cute board book introduction to the animals that represent the Chinese calendar... the illustrations are adorable and the pronunciation guides are helpful for those of us that don't speak Chinese. I like that it has a guide to figure out what year your child was born in on the back, but if felt like it was missing an intro and concluding page to tie it all together. Bottom line, if you're looking for a board book to read around Chinese New Year, I totally recommend this one. If you're looking for a board book for regular re-reading, this one wouldn't make the cut.
