The illustrations are absolutely stunning, and capture the magic of Narnia in a way that is absolutely enchanting. The actual retelling looses most of the magic and feels more like a SparkNotes summary than a story, but I suppose that's what you get trying to condense a chapter book to a board book! Overall, this is still a win for the illustrations!
