Al Capone, also known as “Scarface,” was an American gangster who rose to infamy during the Prohibition as the boss of the Chicago-area criminal scene. He got his beginnings in several small-time gangs before working his way up the ranks of more powerful crime syndicates in lower Manhattan. He then moved on to Chicago, where he worked as a bodyguard to Johnny Torrio before cofounding the Chicago Outfit, which he headed for seven years.
