From the creators of the New York Times bestseller Dragons Love Tacos comes a rollicking, rhyme-tastic, interactive high five competition–starring YOU! Discover the lost art of the high five and improve your slapping skills just in time for the annual high five contest! From hand-limbering stretches to lessons on five-ing with finesse, readers are guided through a series of interactive challenges, each goofier than the next. Acclaimed creative duo Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri have dreamed up another one-of-a-kind, laugh-out-loud book that kids will beg to read again and again.
Heavy book that has super huge pages. Hard to balance and read and offer it to the little reader to participate.
It's a little lengthy for my pre-schooler, but it's really fun. We enjoy the illustrations, especially because they're so different from anything else on our bookshelf. It's clever and silly, and even my one-year-old likes to get in on the high-five action.
The rhyming is stretched a bit far to make some of the text work (for example, rhyming “yourself” with “help”). But the illustrations are fluorescent, bright, and fun, and the concept of a high fiving contest is original and sure to be a huge hit with young readers.
