Applying the tactile features of Montessori teaching, this innovative board book uses enhanced spot UV treatments to teach little ones about famous monuments from around the world, including the Eiffel Tower, The Statue of Liberty, and the Great Wall of China. One-of-a-kind colorful illustrations, sturdy board pages, and no moveable parts make this a unique addition to an early learning collection.
I love the watercolor and ink style illustrations and the little glimpse of the outside world it gives to little minds. The content is a little lacking, but personally I see this as an opportunity to fill in the gaps and engage my toddler in little conversations about the places we're looking at. It's not a vivid story, but it is starting to build a framework my son will be able to slot future knowledge of the world into, which is great!
Landmarks is one of my personal favorites! I love that it has a little more substance than some other board books that go over colors or counting. You can use each famous landmark included to talk more about the world, places you've been, history, and cultures. There's even a map in the beginning of the book that shows where each landmark in the book is in the world. Then to top it all off, Katie Wilson's illustrations are absolutely darling.
