Lyrical, sensory nonfiction text and vibrant illustrations invite readers to experience a child’s-eye view of 13 special days around the world, such as the Spring Festival, Inti Raymi, Eid al-Fitr, Día de Muertos and the New Yam Festival. Includes a global festival calendar and educational notes about why we celebrate.
Though the rhyming cadence could be improved, this is still a great introduction to celebrations around the world.
A fabulous overview and introduction for littles to an array of holidays, with extra information and a pronunciation guide in the endpapers (but phonetic spellings on the pages throughout, too, is a huge win). The illustrations are beautiful and the few rhyming lines share a fun insight into each holiday.
