As a young child, Ashley often visited the police station where his uncle worked, to have his fingerprints taken, visit the cells, and play in police cars. This early experience later became inspiration for his debut picture book, Officer Panda. After receiving his BA in graphic design and working in London at Arena and GQ magazines as a junior designer, Ashley eventually pursued his own career as a police officer. However, his passion for art never subsided. In 2014, Ashley earned his MA in children’s book illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Ashley’s most recent picture books include The Boy and the Blue Moon, One Wave at a Time and Pup 681: A Sea Otter Rescue Story. Ashley now lives with his family in a historic English town in Warwickshire, United Kingdom.
