In order from Moby Dick to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Classic novels become twelve-word board books illustrated with twelve carefully staged needle-felted scenes by brothers Jack and Holman Wang.

The twelve books are shown in publication order, but each adapts a different classic and can be read independently. Choose a familiar story or an image that interests your child; there is no continuing plot or required sequence.

Each book uses only twelve words, so these are visual introductions rather than substitutes for the original novels. The felted scenes invite naming, prediction, and conversation, especially when an adult already knows the story.
Some source stories include war, poverty, danger, or frightening characters, but the board books reduce them to brief, symbolic scenes without detailed violence. Sensitive children may still want an adult beside them for darker titles such as War and Peace, Les Misérables, or Moby Dick.
