Her parents, who are from Taipei and Shanghai, own a consulting textile import-export business, and Chen attributes her early love of fashion to her mother’s influence. In college, she interned for Harper’s Bazaar and after graduation Anna Wintour brought Chen onboard as a consultant to Lucky Magazine. Within two months, Wintour hired her as editor-in-chief making her the youngest editor-in-chief in the magazine’s history.
