Joan Sweeney grew up in Toledo, Ohio. She used to spend Saturday mornings taking free art classes at the Toledo Museum of Art. She has three “grown-up” children and five grandchildren. She wrote many more books after she first wrote Me on the Map. Joan Sweeney passed away in March 2017.
Emma Trithart is an illustrator, hand letterer & graphic designer living in Los Angeles. She graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has worked with a wide variety of clients such as American Girl, Disney Hyperion, Caribou Coffee, Random House, Scholastic Books, Simon & Schuster, the Los Angeles Times and Harper Collins. She enjoys karaoke, video games, petting other people’s dogs and talking about herself in the third person.
ALEX WILLMORE is the illustrator for titles including Duck’s Ditty and The New LiBEARian. Alex has produced illustrations for a number of publishers, creating puzzles, picture books, packaging design, surface pattern for kids wear, stationery, and greeting cards. He lives in the UK.
Katie Kath is the illustrator of many middle grade novels and several picture books. She lives in North Carolina.
