The night that Rachel and Toby’s parents are taken away by the Nazis, they give their daughters three gold coins. “Use these wisely to help save your lives,” they tell them. They also ask the girls to promise that they will always stay together. This compelling true story follows the girls as they confront the daily horrors of Auschwitz, protecting one another, sharing memories, fears and even laughter. Always together. But when Rachel becomes ill and is taken away by Nazi guards, likely forever, Toby risks her life to use the wellhidden gold coins to rescue her little sister.

My name is Isabelle, I was born in Montreal, Quebec. I always loved to draw as a kid, but did not know it was actually possible for it to be my career! So when I studied graphic design in college, I realized illustration was my absolute, favorite subject of it all! :) Fast forward 20 years and here I am. I did a lot of editorial illustrations for magazines and newspapers but I always imagined (and dreamed) of illustrating a children book, one day. Last year that dream came true! :) My style is a mixture of collage of vintages and recent photos embellished with drawings and textures. Some of my favorites, random things: chocolate, cotton candy, fireflies, Saturday morning’s, our dog Maila, a good book near a fire place.
