Ohhh sooo many! I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen has been a firm favourite of mine for a long time! Big Hid by Roisin Swales is super lovely. Also the Oi series by Kes Gray.
My eldest Son definitely! I have my first self penned book coming out soon and it's been so fun seeing his reactions to the story as I've been developing it. It's always great to get giggles from a three year old!
I also like to show him the illustrations and ask him what everything is. When he tells me the cat I've just drawn is a bear, it's back to the drawing board!
My Wife and I met at university studying "Illustration for Children's Publishing" so it's always great to be able to bounce ideas off of each other. Having two young sons is a great excuse to buy mountains of picture books also!
My Mum would always take me to the library when I was young and we'd sit for hours reading through the picture books... happy times.
It's listed on the website now so I can finally reveal that I have an amazingly fun book coming out next year with Simon & Schuster written by the talented Kjartan Poskitt... The Runaway Pea! It's been an amazing text to illustrate and words can't express how much fun I've had working on it. I can't wait to show it off when it hits the shelves.
I love working with humorous texts. I think laughter! Reading to my two boys, there's nothing more fun that hearing them giggle at all the wonderfully funny books out there. I like to make people laugh.
I do very much enjoy a walk through the countryside.
