What's A Little Chicken About

Publisher Summary

Dot is a small chick who’s scared of lots of things: wolves, bears, the occasional lawn ornament. But when an egg rolls out of her mother’s nest, Dot must pluck up her courage to save the day–and her new sibling! Perfect for kids who need some encouragement to face the challenging world, this story proves that sometimes a big hero is just a little chicken.

The Creatives Behind the Book

    Author
    Tammi Sauer

Tammi Sauer is a full-time children’s book author who presents at schools and conferences across the nation. Getting kids excited about reading and writing is her passion. Her other passion is tropical tea. Tammi and her family live in Edmond, Oklahoma, with one dog, two geckos, and a tank full of random fish. Tammi currently has 25 published picture books. In addition to winning awards, her books have gone on to do great things. Nugget & Fang was made into a musical and is currently on a national tour, Wordy Birdy was named a Spring 2018 Kids’ Indie Next pick, an Amazon Best Book of the Month, and a Barnes & Noble Best Book of the Month, and Your Alien, an NPR Best Book of the Year, was recently released in Italian, Spanish, Korean, and French which makes her feel extra fancy.

    Illustrator
    Dan Taylor

My name is Dan. I’m an illustrator. I live and work in the United Kingdom and was born in Staffordshire. Ever since I was teeny, I have always had a crayon in hand and I would draw and paint all the time when I was young. I loved drawing so much that I went to study art at college and university. It was there that I discovered my work might be good enough for children’s books (luckily some nice people in publishing thought that too) and the rest is history! I’m lucky enough to have illustrated many titles for a wide range of publishers in both the UK and the USA. My most recent title is ‘But the Bear Came Back’ written by Tammi Sauer and published by Sterling which will be available in April 2018.
