This book is beautiful!!! Some of my very favorite illustrations. I love that this board book not only goes through different animals, but it has an adjective for each and has opposites throughout.
The funny illustrations, unique animals—get ready to explain what a shrew is!—and clever rhyming make this a totally enjoyable (and quick) read, that at least I rarely get tired of reading. The first two times I read it, it really bothered me that the center two pages didn't seem to go with the "opposites" pattern, but now I enjoy the departure from the norm! This is my favorite of this little series of board books (Flamingos Fly & Once I was a Pollywog).

Douglas Florian is the creator of many acclaimed picture books including How to Draw a Dragon, UnBEElievables, Poetrees, and Dinothesaurus. He lives with his family in New York.
Barbara Bakos has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She has worked as an art director and a character and background designer for a television series, but she always knew that she wanted to spend more time as an illustrator. She now focuses on children’s book illustration. She lives in the United Kingdom.
