Jane Eyre Be the first to review this product With the perennial popularity of classic writers like Charlotte Brontë and Lewis Carroll, Baby Lit™ is a fashionable way to introduce your toddler to the world of classic literature. With clever, simple text by Jennifer Adams, paired with stylish design and illustrations by Sugar’s Alison Oliver, Little Miss Brontë is a must for every savvy parent’s nursery library.
The illustrations in and design of this book are very cute, as is the case with all the BabyLit spins on classic literature, but this one misses the mark for me. It's a count-to-ten book, not a particularly interesting angle, and many of the pages and objects have very little to do with the original Jane Eyre story. It's just kind of a boring book, and while the idea is fun, it's not one that my kids want to read often.
Jennifer graduated from the University of Washington. She has 20 years’ experience as a book editor, including at Gibbs Smith and Quirk Books. She currently works as a consulting editor for Sounds True, developing their children’s line. Jennifer works some evenings at her local independent bookstore, The King’s English, to feed her book habit. She lives in Salt Lake City with her husband, Bill Dunford, who is also a writer.
Alison’s portfolio reflects her love of drawing, pattern and color. Her work includes everything from logos to packaging and product design. She is also the illustrator of the bestselling BabyLit board books which introduce children to classic literature.
