As a kid, this book made me want to pack up all my earthly possessions and head off on a journey across the prairie. I loved imagining what it would be like to be a pioneer. Now, it's fun to be able to share this book series with my pre-schooler, but I do find that it's probably a better read-on-your-own book than read-aloud book.
