Sasha has one speed–fast. She loves to do lots of things, all at once, as fast as possible. Mr. Sloth has one speed–slow. He loves to do things one at a time, at a nice, easy pace. Can Mr. Sloth’s mindful ways teach Sasha to slow down and enjoy life? Best-selling author Katy Hudson gently weaves a mindfulness theme into this unlikely friendship tale between an energetic girl and a sloth, encouraging children to stop, breathe, and be present in every moment.
Katy was raised in Middlesbrough and started her Illustration career as a small child drawing on freshly emulsioned walls around the house! Her parents quickly dissuaded this medium and encouraged drawing with pencil and paper instead. The idea stuck (the pencil was updated to an ink pot and pen in some cases) and after some lovely time at Art College and a degree in Illustration Katy is now a freelance Illustrator based in London. Her debut author/illustrated picture book “Bear and Duck” was published by Harper Collins in June 2015, her second “Too Many Carrots” was published by Capstone in February 2016. She is currently working on her third and fourth picture books and is very excited about that!
