Introduces young readers to numbers, counting, and primary and secondary colors by offering the story of ill-tempered Red who got too powerful for his own good and had to be brought down to size by One–a single entity with the courage to stand up for what was right.
First off, I love what this book teaches about bullying. It just takes one to stand up to a bully, but the more defenders there are against the bully, the better. When "One" says he doesn't tolerate bullying, the others gain the courage to stand up, too. Second of all, I love that this book shows how empathy is important. The colors want to be nice to blue, and blue reaches out to red because he knows what it's like to be alone. Last of all, this book introduces main colors and numbers 1-7 with fun word play. :)
