Read The Raven Boys, The Dream Thieves, Blue Lily, Lily Blue, and The Raven King in numbered order. The quest, friendships, and supernatural mysteries build across all four novels.

Read the short novella Opal after The Raven King. The Raven Boys: The Graphic Novel retells book #1 in full color; it is an alternate starting format, not book #5. A graphic adaptation of book #2 is forthcoming and is excluded until publication.

What Parents Should Know

The series repeatedly deals with foretold and actual death, domestic abuse, neglect, grief, guns, violence, frightening dreams, possession, kidnapping, injuries, and supernatural peril. Some characters make dangerous bargains or engage in criminal activity.

Romance is important but generally not explicit. The emotional material—especially abuse, depression, class inequality, and the certainty that Blue may kill her true love—can be heavier than the dreamlike writing initially suggests.
