Jane Flory 91917-2005) wrote and illustrated many children’s books from the 1940s into the early 1980s. Her work includes dozens of colorful picture books as well as several novels. She earned her degree from the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art in 1939 and later became the school’s evening division director.
Irma Wilde (1907-1991) wrote and illustrated many picture books during the 1950s and 1960s. Many of her books were done in collaboration with her husband, illustrator George Wilde.
Jean Horton Berg (1914-1995) published over fifty children’s books as well as hundred of other short stories and poems. She taught a creative writing course in Radnor, PA for almost thirty years and was a chairwoman on the editorial board of the Pennsylvania Gazette.
