When a terrible witch vows to eat her for supper, a little girl escapes with the help of a mirror and comb given to her by the witch’s cat and dog.
This is a book I grew up with and now love reading to my little girls. It's about a brave girl escaping from a scary witch, but it's not a scary book, even for my easily frightened three-year-old. The story is simple and just a little bizarre, and the illustrations are fantastic. The words are pretty basic, making it an easy book for little ones who are starting to read a bit on their own.
