“Cinderella, you shall go to the ball!” First Stories: Cinderella is a perfect introduction to this classic fairytale. Push, pull, and turn mechanisms bring the story to life and introduce all the main characters: Cinderella, her stepsisters, the handsome prince, and of course the fairy godmother. This well-loved fairytale is beautifully imagined for a new generation by children’s illustrator Dan Taylor.
If you're a fan of princess stories or interactive board books, then this book seems like a great one! The art is detailed and fun, and the Cinderella story lends itself well to transformational surprises through flaps and pull tabs. I'm pretty picky about princess books for my preschool-aged daughters, and I find a lot of interactive books to be annoying and just cause fights during reading time, though, so it's a pass for us on this book.
My name is Dan. I’m an illustrator. I live and work in the United Kingdom and was born in Staffordshire. Ever since I was teeny, I have always had a crayon in hand and I would draw and paint all the time when I was young. I loved drawing so much that I went to study art at college and university. It was there that I discovered my work might be good enough for children’s books (luckily some nice people in publishing thought that too) and the rest is history! I’m lucky enough to have illustrated many titles for a wide range of publishers in both the UK and the USA. My most recent title is ‘But the Bear Came Back’ written by Tammi Sauer and published by Sterling which will be available in April 2018.
Nothing yet! Let Dan Taylor know that you want to hear from them about their book.
