Step Up For Students · Florida

Yes, your Step Up For Students funds work at Bookroo.

Florida's Step Up scholarships — FES-UA, PEP, FTC, and FES-EO — can be used for Bookroo's award-winning children's book subscriptions for Pre-K through 7th grade. Buy directly from Bookroo, and we'll generate the itemized invoice Step Up needs to reimburse you.

How it works

How to buy books and get reimbursed by Step Up For Students

Bookroo isn't on MyScholarShop yet — we're in Step Up's seller onboarding queue — and that doesn't stop you. Florida's purchasing guidelines are explicit: “However, that does not limit purchases to the online platform option only.” Buying direct and submitting for reimbursement is a route the state built on purpose.

We do the paperwork

Buy now, get reimbursed

1

Pick a club and check out at Bookroo — a prepaid 6- or 12-month plan keeps it to one submission, and one checkout per child keeps every invoice clean.

2

Generate the itemized invoice for your order with our invoice tool. It shows every item, tax, shipping, your student's name, and your payment method.

3

Log in to your EMA account, start a reimbursement request, and upload the invoice.

4

Submit by August 31 for the school year's purchases. If Step Up places a request on hold, you have 30 days to respond — submitting early leaves room.

Already on our invoices

What Step Up checks on the invoice

1

A full itemized breakdown — the date with the year, each item, subtotal, tax, shipping, and total. A standard order confirmation is missing most of that; our invoice isn't.

2

Your student's name, spelled exactly as it appears on their scholarship account — the invoice tool asks for it so it matches.

3

Proof of payment: the invoice shows your payment method, so it doubles as your proof and you usually won't need a separate bank statement.

Your Step Up invoice, ready in minutes

Enter your order ID or checkout link, pick your program — FES-UA, PEP, FTC, or FES-EO — and download an invoice with everything Step Up asks for. Ordered for several kids at once? It splits the order into one invoice per student.

Your program

Books are eligible under every Step Up scholarship

Each quote below is from the current 2026–27 purchasing guide for that program. Books have no annual spending cap and no purchase-frequency limit under any of them.

FES-UA

Family Empowerment Scholarship — Unique Abilities

Educational Subscription Kits curated and mailed to the home by a kit company are eligible for reimbursement.FES-UA Purchasing Guidelines 2026–27

Two separate paths cover Bookroo: the books category, and Educational Subscription Kits — which describes us almost word for word. Our clubs are organized by stage of reading, not grade, so you can pick the club that fits your reader and change it any time by emailing support@bookroo.com.

PEP

Personalized Education Program

Textbooks, workbooks, and other books are eligible expenses. Books are neither capped in annual spending nor subject to frequency of purchase rules.PEP Purchasing Guide 2026–27

PEP is Florida's program for parent-directed learning — families teaching at home rather than enrolling full time in a school. It's the program most Bookroo families use, and books and subscription kits are both eligible.

FTC & FES-EO

Florida Tax Credit & Family Empowerment — Educational Options

Textbooks, workbooks, and other books are eligible expenses. Books are neither capped in annual spending nor subject to frequency of purchase.Private School Purchasing Guide 2026–27

If your student attends a participating private school, tuition comes out of the award first — and books are an eligible use of what remains.

What your scholarship can buy

Every club delivers new hardcover books each month, matched to your child's stage of reading. And unlike a workbook, none of it gets used up.

01

Pick by grade

Picture books for Pre-K through 1st grade, junior chapter books for 1st through 5th, and middle grade novels for 3rd through 7th — and you know your reader better than any chart.

02

Prepay, don't go monthly

A monthly plan is a new charge — and a new reimbursement submission — every month. A prepaid 6- or 12-month plan is one charge, one invoice, one submission. Same books, a fraction of the paperwork.

03

One checkout per student

Each child's reimbursement is submitted against their own account, so one order per child means one clean invoice per child. Already combined an order? The invoice tool splits it for you.
