Books belong on your resource order.
You have $1,000 per student for the year — half now, half in the spring — and a list of things it's allowed to buy. Reading materials are on it.
Venture's approved-items list names subscription boxes outright, and Bookroo is an approved vendor. A grade-matched book box sits squarely in that company.
Two things worth knowing before you submit, because they're what rejections are usually about:

Venture doesn't approve subscriptions that auto-renew or keep a card on file. Bookroo for Venture families is prepaid for a set term — a semester or a year, paid once, no renewal. Nothing to cancel later.
Every book is screened, and none of it is religious curriculum.
We read each title before it ships. Public funds can't buy religious materials, and nothing we send is.

Between clubs? Size up. A slightly harder book read together does more for a growing reader than an easy one read alone.
Buying for more than one child? Each student has their own $1,000 and their own order form — so each child gets their own club, drawn from their own Reward. That's also just better reading: a first grader and a fifth grader shouldn't be sharing a stack.
How it works
How to request Bookroo with your Venture Reward
Five steps, about three minutes — all inside Basecamp.
Log in to Basecamp.
Your student's order forms live there.
Get your Curriculum Order Form in first.
Venture asks families to submit the curriculum order before the resource order, and to have it in before the first day of school. Bookroo isn't on that form — but it has to be submitted before you can open the next one.
Open the Resource Order Form for the student you're ordering for.
One form per student. Put everything you want for the term on it before you submit.
Add Bookroo as a resource.
Copy the request details from the club you picked above and paste them in. Include the club name, the price, and the link — reviewers approve faster when they don't have to go looking.
Check your running total, then submit.
The form tracks what you've spent against your $500 for the semester. Anything over $400 in a single item gets an extra approval step, so if you're combining a full year of Bookroo with a big-ticket request, expect it to take a little longer.
Then Venture takes it from there.
Your request goes to Venture's team and your partner school for review. Once it's approved, Venture places the order and the books ship to you. You'll never enter a card.
Already submitted this semester? You get a fresh allotment next semester — and any first-semester money you didn't spend rolls forward into it.
Timing
When to put this on your form
If school has already started, ask anyway. Venture reviews resource requests through the year. You can start at any time and go through the end of the school year!
Order for the term, not the calendar. Books ship monthly through the term you paid for, so a semester requested in August delivers all fall. If you'd rather have everything at once — some families want the whole stack on the shelf on day one — email support@bookroo.com and we'll ship it together.
