How it works

How to buy Bookroo on the Odyssey Marketplace

Six steps, about two minutes. Odyssey pays us directly from your student's account — nothing leaves your pocket, and there's nothing to submit afterward.

You don't have to take our word for any of this: log in, open the Marketplace, and search Bookroo — we're there, approved and ready to buy.

1

Log in to your Odyssey parent portal.

Your students appear on the dashboard.

2

Select your student, then open the Marketplace.

You can also reach it from the Wallet. Make sure you've picked the student whose balance you want to use.

3

Search for "Bookroo."

Search by name rather than browsing by category — it returns everything we offer in your program in one go. Not finding us? Check you're in the right student's account, then email support@bookroo.com with your state.

4

Choose what fits your reader and add it to your cart.

The listing shows what's included, shipping, and the return policy.

5

Assign the purchase to your student.

Use the dropdown in your cart to assign each item to the right child — this matters if you're buying for more than one.

6

Check your address and submit.

Odyssey pulls your delivery address from your application. Confirm it's right, then click Submit Order. You'll get a confirmation email, and another when your books ship.

Then what? Nothing.

Marketplace orders are processed right away — there's no approval to wait for, no receipts to keep, and no reimbursement request to file. You can check any order in Odyssey under the profile icon.

Need to change your shipping address? It comes from your Odyssey application — update it with Odyssey Support before ordering.

Find your child's reading stage

Three stages, each matched to where a reader actually is. Pick by grade — or by what your child is reading now, which you know better than any chart.

Kindergarten – 1st Grade · Ages 5–6

Picture Books

Hand-selected hardcover picture books. Built for read-alouds and emerging readers — listening comprehension, print awareness, a growing vocabulary.

32–40 pages each

1st – 5th Grade · Ages 7–10

Junior Chapter Books

Hardcover early chapter books. For readers making the leap to reading on their own — fluency, stamina, confidence.

120–280 pages each

3rd – 7th Grade · Ages 9–12

Middle Grade Books

Hardcover chapter books. Longer, richer stories that build comprehension and a real reading habit.

250–350 pages each

How you buy depends on your program. Some offer the whole 24-book library in one purchase, some a couple of books at a time, some both — your program's page shows what's available to you, and the Marketplace shows the price against your balance.

Buying for more than one child? Each student has their own Odyssey account and their own balance, and every purchase is assigned to a specific student at checkout. Three readers is three assignments in one cart, not three separate orders.

Why Bookroo

We read every book before it goes in a box.

Not a summary, not a review — the actual book.

We're looking for stories with heart and imagination, the kind kids ask to read again and parents don't dread at bedtime. Natural diversity, yes. Titles that prioritize an agenda over storytelling, no. Our goal has never been complicated: send books kids love and parents trust.

That's the part nobody can outsource. Plenty of places will ship you books. Knowing what's inside them, and deciding a nine-year-old should read this one and not that one, is the actual work — and it's why families stay with us for years rather than months.

Every book is hardcover, and every book is part of a custom collection with uniform height and coordinated spines — so what accumulates on your shelf looks like a library, not a pile.

And none of it gets used up. A workbook gets filled in; a book gets read again, handed to a younger sibling, and is still on the shelf years from now.

50,000+ Happy Readers!

We know what books kids and parents will love.

I have purchased several Bookroo subscriptions. It’s the easiest and best present to give to littles and their parents enjoy getting new books every month.
