Alabama CHOOSE Act
Alabama's CHOOSE Act can be used for Bookroo's award-winning children's book subscriptions for Kindergarten through 7th grade. Pay straight from your student's ESA through ClassWallet — nothing out of pocket.
The CHOOSE Act at a glance
Books have their own category
Curriculum and Supplemental Reading Materials is an approved expense category.
Managed in ClassWallet
Purchases go through Pay Vendor — your program pays Bookroo directly, nothing out of pocket.
Invoices in minutes
Parent and student names, service dates, and itemized totals — everything Alabama requires, generated right on this page.
How it works
Alabama is direct-pay: purchases are made inside ClassWallet rather than reimbursed afterward, so start here instead of at our checkout. Nothing is charged to you.
Nothing out of pocket
1
Pick a club or collection and add it to your cart — for subscriptions, choose a term that ends by June 30, 2027. (We can make sure all of your books arrive before the June 30 deadline, regardless of the length of subscription — we'll just ship more books together for you! Email support@bookroo.com to request this.)
2
Generate the itemized invoice for your cart below. Nothing is charged to you.
3
In ClassWallet, open Pay Vendor, search for Bookroo, upload the invoice, and choose Curriculum and Supplemental Reading Materials.
4
Submit. ClassWallet pays Bookroo directly, and your books start shipping as soon as the payment arrives.
Already on our invoices
1
The expense category: Curriculum and Supplemental Reading Materials — the one built for books.
2
Both names: Alabama requires the parent's and the student's name, or the invoice is rejected. Ours carries both.
3
Date(s) of Service inside the program year: every delivery on a Bookroo invoice lands on or before June 30, 2027.
Your invoice
Get your itemized invoice
Create an invoice to submit to ClassWallet with everything they need to approve your purchase request. Simply create your cart and then paste your full cart URL into the field below.
Buying for more than one child? Put each child's name on their items and the tool creates a separate invoice per student. Something unusual? The full invoice tool handles every case, or email support@bookroo.com. New to the platform? See our ClassWallet guide.
Every club delivers new hardcover books each month, matched to your child's stage of reading. And unlike a workbook, none of it gets used up.
01
Pick by grade
Picture books for Kindergarten and 1st grade, junior chapter books for 1st through 5th, and middle grade novels for 3rd through 7th — and you know your reader better than any chart.
02
Prepay the school year
One charge, one invoice, and a term that ends by June 30, 2027, so every date stays inside the program year. Want to buy a 12-month subscription midyear? Just email support@bookroo.com and we can front-load your subscription so all the books arrive within your program year!
03
One invoice per student
CHOOSE funds are for individual student use, so each child needs their own invoice. Name each child on their items and our tool splits the order automatically.
Buy a complete set
Choose a 24-book Picture Book or Junior Chapter Book collection. The complete set ships together, so the purchase and delivery stay inside the current program year — then use the invoice tool above for your ClassWallet submission.

Why Bookroo
Not a summary, not a review — the actual book.
We're looking for stories with heart and imagination, the kind kids ask to read again and parents don't dread at bedtime. Natural diversity, yes. Titles that prioritize an agenda over storytelling, no. Our goal has never been complicated: send books kids love and parents trust.
That's the part nobody can outsource. Plenty of places will ship you books. Knowing what's inside them, and deciding a nine-year-old should read this one and not that one, is the actual work — and it's why families stay with us for years rather than months.
Every book is hardcover, and every book is part of a custom collection with uniform height and coordinated spines — so what accumulates on your shelf looks like a library, not a pile.
And none of it gets used up. A workbook gets filled in; a book gets read again, handed to a younger sibling, and is still on the shelf years from now.
The 2026–27 program year
Alabama is one of the few programs with no rollover: “Any funds left in the account at the end of the school year (June 30, 2027) will be returned to the CHOOSE Act Fund.” (CHOOSE Act Parent Guide 2026–2027.)
Get them reading sooner
We can help make sure you get your full subscription before the deadline — but the more time your kids have access to great books, the greater the benefit to them!
