As a kid, this book stressed me out. I was so worried about Corduroy finding his button and what was going to happen to him. Then I read it as a parent and I thought it was sweet and my daughter loved it. Now I have another daughter and it stresses her out so we're just a mixed bag when it comes to Corduroy. The illustrations are great, the story is classic--I hope it's a win for your family.
A tender, classic children's book. Both Corduroy and the young girl who sees his value are wonderful characters. The soft water colors, the nostalgia of a historic department store, the coziness of a small bedroom in a city apartment—and, of course, a well-intentioned, helpless little bear—all combine to make this the classic, beloved story it is.
