My Grandma Lived in Gooligulch
Ages 7–+ · 1983

Written by Laura Fischetto · Illustrated by Letizia Galli and Yoriko Ito
A borrowed ball gown sets off a tangle of mistaken identities and secret schemes.
Rosaura wants to wear her green dress to the costume ball to run away with Florindo, but Harlequin secretly gives the dress to Columbine, the maid he loves. At the ball, mistaken identities pile up until Harlequin must scheme to set things right. The story plays out as one short performance of Italian commedia dell'arte, with watercolor pictures and a note on the art form by performer Geoff Hoyle.
