In the small village of Sueño Bay, famous for its mysterious crystals and supernatural creatures, Kay drags friends Sleeves, Jenna and Ollie into searching for a shipwrecked radio host. While listening to their favorite mystery series, Kay and Sleeves realize that the host, DJ Azul, must be somewhere near Sueño Bay. Kay is thrilled! But then the show ends with DJ Azul panicking and calling for help as his boat spins out of control. Everyone else thinks it’s just part of the show, but Kay can’t shake the feeling that DJ Azul might be in real danger. That’s when Kay decides to join her friends on a kayak trip up the coast. She doesn’t tell them of her real motive: to find DJ Azul. When she tries to veer off on her own, egged on by some tricky moon creatures, Kay must face her fears, including doing what is right, instead of blindly following her hunch. This is the sixth book in the Sueño Bay Adventures series, following Shadow Island, Otter Lagoon, Hermit Hill, Candle Point and Crystal Cave. Praise for the Sueño Bay Adventure Series: ★”Thrilling, joyous…Deas’s expressive artwork includes the colorful landscapes and flora of Sueño Bay forests, from bright greens and yellows in the daytime to subdued blues and grays at night and in the rain. Atmospheric, wordless pages pack a huge punch in this book’s emotional communication. The side effects of loneliness result in magic and danger in this satisfying, relatively self-contained third entry in the ‘Sueño Bay Adventures’ series.”–School Library Journal, starred review
