This book is a classic Thai lullaby and has a repetitive cantor to help lull your baby to sleep. An older child would enjoy guessing what animal is coming next or helping recite the text.

The Creatives Behind the Book
Minfong Ho was born in Rangoon, Burma, and raised in both Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand. Her parents are of Chinese origin, so she spoke fluent Chinese in her home, Thai in the marketplace of Bangkok and English in school. She was educated in Thailand and Taiwan, before moving to the United States to attend Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. There, she received her BA in Economics and History as well as her M.F.A. in Creative Writing.
Holly Meade (1956-2013) wrote and illustrated If I Never Forever Endeavor. She earned a Caldecott Honor for her illustrations in Hush! A Thai Lullaby by Minfong Ho. She also illustrated And Then Comes Halloween by Tom Brenner; On the Farm, In the Wild, and In the Sea by David Elliott; and many others.
