Author of the bestselling Biscuit series, Alyssa Satin Capucilli, tells a magical tale of parental love that every parent will want to share with their little one! In the very first moment, when you came to be, I looked at you, and you looked at me. I whispered these words as I held you near, for all time, for all space, for the world to hear I will love you.” Capucilli’s text is lyrical, touching, and makes for a great read-aloud, while illustrator Lisa Anchin brings this story to life through magical, detailed landscapes and precious mother/daughter moments. Every parent wants to reassure they will always be loved. Like Nancy Tillman’s On the Night You Were Born, this book is sure to become a tried-and-true bedtime story.
Alyssa Satin Capucilli is the award-winning creator and author of the Katy Duck series and the bestselling Biscuit series, which has sold over twenty-four million copies. A dancer as well as a writer, she lives with her family in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.
Lisa Anchin has been drawing since she could hold a pencil and making up stories since she could speak. She received her BA from Smith College and took a long, circuitous route to an MFA at the School of Visual Art in New York. She is often holed up in her studio stringing words together and compulsively doodling, but she also loves meeting other kidlit folks and volunteers as the Illustration Coordinator for SCBWI‘s Metro NY chapter. She is the illustrator of A Penguin Named Patience by Suzanne Lewis (Sleeping Bear Press 2015) and I Will Love You by Alyssa Satin Capucilli (Scholastic 2017). The Little Green Girl (Dial 2019) is her first author/illustrated title. Lisa lives in Brooklyn with her husband, daughter, and their two studio kittens.
