As you may have guessed from the title, one of these chickens has a problem with not interjecting in the middle of the story and it's not the dad. The book is comical but also has some negative behaviors I didn't appreciate, including the little chicken promising multiple times not to interrupt and the father rewarding the poor behavior.
DAVID EZRA STEIN received a Caldecott Honor for Interrupting Chickenand the Ezra Jack Keats New Writer Award for Leaves, which was also a Publishers Weekly Best Book, a Kirkus Reviews Editor’s Choice and a School Library Journal Best Book.
