Bookroo's summary

Toni, the last green lemon on the tree, is content with his view and hesitant to leave. As his fellow lemons venture into the world, Toni faces a choice: stay safe or take a leap of faith. Will he find the courage to let go and discover what lies beyond the branches? This charming tale explores the journey of growing up and embracing change, inviting young readers to ponder the rewards of bravery.

From the publisher

The lemons on the tree are finally ripe, and there is great excitement.

Only one of the little lemons is still green. Little Toni has a mind of his own. The view from the lemon tree is enough for him. Who wants to go out into the big wild world? But soon Toni is the only lemon left hanging on the tree. Will he take a risk and jump? When Toni finally lets go, his courage is rewarded.

Nele Brönner’s humorous story about maturity and growing up with her expressive style is sure to charm little listeners.

3.8

Creative illustrations and unique story, though a little anticlimactic.

4.8

A somewhat bizarre book, yet memorably enchanting and quirky. The illustrations are fantastic and unique (though the little lemon "children" look pretty funny to me) and the story includes positive messages about facing fears, growing up, and trying things out of your comfort zone—yet ends somewhat abruptly.
