A young Monarch caterpillar named Marigold can’t wait to grow up. Day after day, she dreams of the incredible adventures she will have when, as a butterfly, she travels south, from the Great Lakes to Mexico, to join millions of other Monarchs at their winter home in the Oyamel Forest. Young readers can travel along, meeting all the insects and other animals that help Monarchs on their long and dangerous journeys. Lifelike watercolor illustrations and a concluding message from Monarch butterfly expert Dr. Phil Schapppert complement Marigold’s amazing true-to-life imaginings.
