Judith Kerr (1923-2019) escaped from Hitler’s Germany with her family and eventually settled in England. She worked as an artist and BBC television scriptwriter before becoming a full-time author and illustrator of children’s books, including When Willy Went to the Wedding, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, and the best-selling The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
