“I think this book earns a high rating, even though I would personally not include it in my child's library. What it's going for it does really well: creatively going through the ABCs with a monster for each letter. Even I learned about new monsters reading it. But for me, that's also the rub: even though the book is lighthearted, I think the illustrations and names of so many monsters would introduce too many possibilities for nightmares to my children, even if the book suggests there's no need to be scared of the monsters.”
