In this new book illustrated by award-winning artist and designer Sara Gillingham, a boy gathers a bunch of flowers for a beautiful bouquet for his mother in this simple and sweet story that features a counting element: 10 to 1.
This book is a treat! There are so many numbers books out there, but sometimes a numbers book really POPS! This is one of them. The illustrations are fun and have a craft-y, homemade feel. I also love this book because it introduces fun new words. So many counting books focus on the same products over and over again--counting bugs, counting cars, counting blocks. Counting peonies, forget-me-nots, and tidy tips is a refreshing change.
This is a cute book that counts backwards through a flower garden, including some more well-known florals (daisies) and others that may be new (tidy tips). The illustrations are cute and as a mom I love that the culmination of all this counting is a beautiful bouquet for mama.
