Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924) was born in Manchester. She had a very poor upbringing and used to escape from the horror of her surroundings by writing stories. In 1865 her family emigrated to the USA where she married and became the successful author of many children’s books including Little Lord Fauntleroy and A Little Princess.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Calista Brill is a writer and editor based in New York City. She writes stories about boats, cats, dragons, construction equipment, elephants, and many other things. She likes reading comic books, sewing quilts, and eating lime Popsicles. Adelina Lirius was born in Kosovo and currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden where she works as a freelance illustrator. She earned a degree in art teaching from Uppsala University and studied illustration at Berghs School of Communication. This is her debut picture book.
