American Dog Books

Summary: Chestnut is a dog without a family, abandoned in the wild and wandering the North Carolina countryside. When twelve-year-old Meg finds him at the edge of her family's Christmas tree farm, she knows they belong together. But the farm is close to closing down and her family can't afford a pet. Meg is sure she can save the business and take care of Chestnut, as long as she keeps him a secret until then.
