Read Catwings, Catwings Return, Wonderful Alexander and the Catwings, and Jane on Her Own in numbered order. Each adventure is brief and approachable, but later books assume readers know the cats and the homes they have found.
The boxed sets collect these same four stories. They are not additional books in the sequence.
Catwings is gentle overall, with themes of family, belonging, independence, and kindness. The cats face traffic, predators, separation, harsh weather, and humans who may fear or mistreat them, so sensitive young animal lovers may feel some suspense.
