Ellie, Engineer Books

Read the three books in publication order: Ellie, Engineer; The Next Level; then In the Spotlight. Bloomsbury presents them as one series but does not print volume numbers, so this page keeps them unnumbered rather than inventing an official sequence.

The stories build on Ellie's friendships and growing confidence, but each centers on a new project and can be understood on its own.

Friendship conflict and gender stereotypes create most of the tension. Adults or other children sometimes assume that boys deserve credit for engineering or that pageants and tools do not belong together, and Ellie has to challenge those ideas.

The books include Ellie's sketches and practical STEM back matter about tools, simple machines, and circuits. Projects should still be matched to a child's age and supervised when real tools or electricity are involved.
