How to Read Jasper Rabbit's Creepy Tales

Read the three picture books in publication order, beginning with Creepy Carrots! Each is a complete story, so children can also choose the object that sounds funniest or spookiest.

Troubling Tonsils!, Unsettling Salad!, and Yarn Is Everything! form a separate chapter-book spin-off. They are longer, independently readable tales narrated by an older Jasper, not books #4–6 of one continuous plot.

What Parents Should Know

The picture books build suspense around objects that seem threatening, but the scares are playful and usually end with a comic reversal. Dark palettes, imagined pursuit, and uncertainty may feel intense to very sensitive preschoolers.
